Hi all....we are in Minnesota and it is snowing like crazy.
We are planning on leaving here in the morning. It has been really nice to have some piece and quiet time.
We have celebrated Christmas with Mark's family - Hannah's birthday - we have visited Great Grandma (who recently had a massive stroke) and Great Grandpa. Mark and I visited yesterday - and today we went with the girls. It was wonderful...she was alert today...and it was a great visit. Grandpa was even alert more so than he has been lately. He played a tape of himself from quite a few years ago...playing the piano and singing. There was even a song of him and his mom singing as well. Some day when he passes away I am going to get a copy of this tape for the girl and us.
We had to do something kind of hard...we all needed to pick out some "things" from their old apartment as keepsakes. Mark got a chair for our room - and I got really pretty bowl and blue dish. We got a few small things for the girls as well. Grandma always wore pins on her clothes...so they each got a couple of those. It is nice to have some of their past....and a way to remember them. I will post some pictures of this weekend later....
We overall have had a great weekend. We played the Wii...ate...played some more and ate some more. The girls love Christmas time and it seems this one has come to end...
Welcome to 2009! School Starts on Monday so it is back to the grindstone of normal life. We have already taken the tree down...so we are all ready to begin fresh.
