Honor Band!

Marissa was selected to represent her school at the Tri-State Honor Band Festival - held every year in Decorah, Iowa. She was one of five students chosen from the 7th and 8th graders. She practiced many hours, shed many tears, and worked very hard to play the 3 pieces of music selected for the 8th graders. Over 150 kids from 3 states left bright and early on March 6th - leaving at 5:45am. It was a great day, a great concert, and a wonderful experience for her.

I love that Marissa takes a challenge and goes for it, even when she has no idea what she will have to do to succeed, but she worked hard. She learned a lot, and I am so very proud of her. I always wanted to learn an instrument....and it is fun to see them learning and playing and enjoying the gift of music.
