It is a sad day here at our house - sad, but joyful too...Grandma Laura Stangl went home to be with Jesus tonight. July 7, 2009...what a wonderful woman...and a testimony of love and strength for her family. We were joking that she was waiting for Mark to come home, because he was the last to come...and just a few days later she did finally let go....
We got to spend time with her this weekend and that was wonderful. I asked her what the key was to staying married for 69+ years (Sept would have been 70 years) and she smiled and said, "Be content with what you have". She taught each of many things and she will be greatly missed.
We are off to Minnesota tomorrow...Mark is going to sing Grandma's favorite "Amazing Grace" like he did for their 40th wedding anniversary....and he and all the grandchildren will be the pallbarers.
